We stayed the Ace Hotel in Seattle for New Year’s. The Ace in Seattle has been open for 10 years, compared to the 2 year of the Portland Ace Hotel. I admit I have more affection for the Portland Ace, but the Seattle Ace has a similar vibe. Here’s a little tour of the hotel, and the room we stayed in.

Overall, the Ace Seattle was a nice cozy experience. I slept well, which isn’t usually possible for me in hotels. There was also breakfast included of fresh waffles, fruits, toast, granola, orange juice, Stumptown Coffee.

I honestly haven’t been out of the house in four days. So, it seemed like a good idea to get out into the world. We drove over to Staples in search of some tool for Keoni, and to people watch of course. There aren’t many places to people watch in this town. It’s basically, Staples, Walmart (which I hate to enter), and the various grocery stores. After, walking around for a bit I was ready to head home, but I wondered if this little bakery had opened yet. We’ve been watch them remodel an old flower shop for the past year, trying to turn it into a coffee shop/bakery.
We were surprised to discover that My Sister’s Bakery had opened, and that we got there just before closing. I opted to try a latte and a Russian tea cookie.
They have a nice little space. The baked goods were yummy, but I’m still in search of a good latte in this town. The roast of the beans in their coffee was a little too dark for my taste. The espresso they serve is organic and fair-trade. I just forgot the name of the roaster. (I’ll update when I get the name)
Keoni was still hungry after having his chocolate chip cookie. So, we headed over to the local Mexican/El Salvadorian restaurant, Restaurante La Salvadorena. They have changed their menu since our last visit. Now, they offer tamales, and handmade tortillas.
Overall a tasty dinner of tamales, tortillas, pupusas, rice and beans.

I have a large number of domains. I’ve recently been trying to get content up on the domains that I have just been sitting on. The latest site to be up and running is another sticker site, but this one will over time have more variety than some of the other decal site. I also had fun playing with a new cart system on this one.
Visit Decals Hawaii for some awesome decal action.

I spent last weekend down in Portland for Obon at the Oregon Buddhist Temple. We stayed at the Edgefield again. The room was nice, but the hotel had 5 wedding parties that night. This didn’t not make for a restful night of sleep. We also went up to Hood River and The Dalles. More on that adventure coming soon.
The migraines have been attacking… and thus not much has been done other than work and sleeping.
