The house is slowly coming a long. Kitty is helping John install tile. We now have the tile grouted, and should be able to seal it on Friday. Then, the bathroom tile, and molding are all that’s left of the inside projects.

Veggie Wonton Soup

Vegetable Wonton Soup

Veggie Wonton Soup

2 cups of water
1 low sodium veggie bouillon cube
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons shoyu
3/4 cup chopped green onions
4 leaves chopped basil leaves
6 veggie wonton/gyoza
1 to 1 1/2 teaspoon sugar (or to taste)
* Sriracha to taste

Cooking instructions:
Add water, bouillon, pepper, shoyu, sugar. Heat to boil, add frozen wontons. Simmer for five minutes, then serve with green onion and basil leaf garnish.

This is a take on a Vietnamese style wonton soup that I’ve been craving. This recipe doesn’t have as many veggies as usual, but we had to work with what was on hand. We were able to use the onions and basil leaves from the garden. Next time we’ll have to make our wontons from scratch. It turned out to be a nice meal for a quick lunch.
