The house is slowly coming a long. Kitty is helping John install tile. We now have the tile grouted, and should be able to seal it on Friday. Then, the bathroom tile, and molding are all that’s left of the inside projects.

Hoquiam House

I took this little video on my last night in this house. We took this house down to the studs, or ship boards as they were. We replaced all the wiring, plumbing, flooring, and dry wall. I remember rolling around the living room floor on a scaffold painting the smoke stained ceiling white. It took 4 coats of Kilz to get it to stop smelling. There were little imperfections in some of my first drywall seams that left little hairline cracks. Only two at the time of moving were visible, but maybe they were only visible to me. This was a very good little house, and I learned a lot about myself during the time I owned it. Luckily, the time was right to move on, and I found a new house that needed help. Granted the new house isn’t 100 years old, it’s only 5, but it’s been neglected the last few years. The new house is very nice, and is certainly coming together a lot faster. All projects should be completed in a few weeks… as long as the flooring shows up on time.

Here are the new side tables that were made yesterday. I initially bought this maple plywood with the hopes of testing it for flooring, but as it was being cut into appropriate size it became clear that the veneer was very thin and unsuitable for flooring. Sadly, I with that cut I was obligated to buy to the sheet of wood. Luckily, the wood turned into these lovely side tables.
